OMAN TOURISM MINISTRY HITS THE ROAD WITH A THREE-DAY SHORT FILM FESTIVAL AND TOURISM SOUK

The Oman Ministry of Tourism will be on the road next month for a three day roadshow starting on 1 October at Glasgow’s Blythswood Square. This will be followed by events at On the 7th in Manchester on 2 October and at the Bulgari Hotel and Residences in London on 3 October.

Participating members of the travel trade will be treated to private cinema viewings of the Sultanate’s most iconic landmarks whilst Omani travel experts will be presenting their offerings in a souk style workshop.  Attendees of the events will be able to get product updates from hoteliers including the Shangri La Barr Al Jissa, Intercontinental Muscat, Sifawy and Juweira Boutique Hotels, Al Nahda Resort & Spa, DMC’s Tour Oman, Oman World Tourism and Sama Travel, Almouj Golf Club at the Wave and Oman Air as well as representatives from the Ministry of Tourism. There will also be the chance to indulge in a traditional Omani buffet, enjoy a variety of drinks and win prizes in the Oman souk raffle.

Alison Cryer, UK Director, Oman Ministry of Tourism MBR Office said “ We came up with a souk concept for the roadshow as we felt it would be a fun yet informative way to provide the travel industry with the destination’s latest updates and it really encapsulates the essence of Oman”. Cryer continues “Coupled with a short film festival showcasing Oman’s stunning scenery, exciting experiences and variety of accommodation with ten-minute films from a variety of production companies including the Travel Channel and Travel Guru, the events provide a very comprehensive round-up of Oman’s offerings.”

With new hotel developments, a new airport, port, aquarium, convention centre and a national railway project in the pipeline, there has never been a better time to travel to Oman. The destination is known for its unique topography, wealth of natural attractions and warm welcoming people making it an ideal holiday spot for visitors looking to add an Arabian flavour to their holiday.
